The tarantula and material file are from the Content Paradise animal collection. The skull is a poseable skull by DAZ Studios. The background and sand foreground is a new technology in poser called Distance Simulation Unit developed by Vanishing Point. The spider posing was just a bunch of dial spinning and rotating the object. The lighting setup was by Waldemar Belwon and Louise Choquette.
